Lunar New Year: Am I Presenting the Real Me?

Writer: FreyaFreya

The lunar new year, and next new Moon, arrives on 29th January in the sign of Aquarius.

With the new Moon and the Sun sitting alongside Mercury - representing our ability to think and communicate - and the deep transformational energy of Pluto, we have an opportunity to seed a process of deep, objective, communication that reflects our true nature and can benefit a greater good. What is it about our essence, our emotions or our past that we are ready to to more objectively communicate? How might we do so in order to assist our own transformation as well as that of others?

But the Sabian Symbol for the new moon  -‘’Beautifully gowned wax figures on display’ -  also cautions us. Are we perhaps being too detached from reality? Is it possible we are  communicating an image that is not in line with the reality of who we actually are, and perhaps deriving a sense of personal power from doing so?

With Aquarius, too, there is always the possibility of using - and abusing - technology in all of this. Tech can help us to communicate in a way that is authentic and deep - but it can also encourage unhealthy detachment and be used - by ourselves and others - to deceive.

With illusory Neptune also sitting alongside Venus in reticent Pisces during this new Moon. the temptation might be to hide our idealism and our dreams behind a veil - or to get caught up in deception, our own or that of others. Saturn is also close by, which always lends a sense of caution and ‘reap what you sow’ to situations. Have we the courage to allow our dreams and ideals to be seen while also remaining sufficiently cautious not to have our judgement clouded? Are we sure we are not hiding behind a cloak of deception, allowing others to believe in an idealised version of ourselves?

So... how, and for who, will you show up this lunar new year?

Magic is much misunderstood, assumed by some to be fraudulent and by others miraculous.

Few want to know how it really works, for fear of shattering the illusion and discovering it is a most commonplace of things.
